The first thing you should know about me is that I love stories.

Which might be why I anthropomorphize abandoned vacuum cleaners on @vacuumstagram, help people express their love with Vow Muse, and keep asking strangers to tell me about their interactions with American healthcare.

I believe that at our core, experience designers are storytellers. We may tell those stories through different mediums—visual systems, research, or in my case, language—but our goal is the same: to create an intuitive narrative that allows users to make informed decisions. I spend a lot of time trying to understand how people think, and why, so I can help them navigate the most complex moments of their lives.

The second thing you should know about me is that I love agendas. Is it weird to wax philosophical about an agenda? Probably. But they actually speak to what I believe about leading a team to success

Agendas are beautifully concise. They align groups of people and set expectations by providing transparency and acting a source of truth. Without fuss, they advocate for what’s to come by telling the story of where we are now, and where we’re going together, empowering us to be successful.

Maybe what I admire most about agendas is that their very purpose is unmistakably empathetic and kind—an approach I strive for as an experiences designer and leader. And at the end of my own story, I hope that’s what people remember about me.
